Minnetonka Yacht Club – Helicopter Video
First let me say I got the Title wrong, it’s the 125th anniversary not 150th! Oops, read the invite too quickly. Anyway, this is the best video I’ve shot from the air so far. Great lighting due to sunset. The occasion was our yacht club, Minnetonka Yacht Club, has it’s 150th anniversary this year and had a party on the Ice. They celebrated with a party out on frozen lake Minnetonka. (The MYC clubhouse is on an island as you will see). I flew near the island and zoomed in on ‘party central’ near the bonfire. After below zero temperatures most of the last few weeks we were treated to 25 degrees F and sunny with no wind. The only problem the whole flight was there were about 4 dogs that were chasing my Trex 600 heli like crazy. One dog in particular was really after it and wouldn’t lose interest. But my battery was running low. His owner was yelling but but the dog kept coming and I knew the dog would stick it’s face into my blades if I landed. Finally the owner distracted the dog long enough to land and then protect it from the whirling blades.
